Hiking up the mountain for service

Philippines Trip Report

Dear Bro. Daniel,

As you know by now, the missionary team that went to the Philippines with me has returned home.  The team consisted of Bros. Daniel Miller, Justin Brown, Ben Sims, Zeke Sitton, Josh McFee, and myself.  We certainly appreciated the opportunity to go and be a part of the things that the Lord is doing through the efforts of Worldwide Missionary Outreach in spreading the wonderful Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We began our trip by helping with a Global Rescue for One relief effort.  For two days we were able to assist people that had been devastated from a major typhoon that struck the Philippines just days before.  It was a terrible situation, and my heart ached to help these people.  Our team along with others from WMO and the local GR41 team, distributed medicines and handed out food packets, and did our best to project love to these people.

After the GR41 work, we embarked on an eighteen day marathon of services and outreaches. We were on four different islands and travelled by plane, ferry, fishing boat, van, jeepney, tri-cycle, and foot.

We did our best to bring joy to each place we visited and to share with them a living Gospel that can change lives, as it has changed ours, telling them that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and sharing with them the Message of the Hour.

We spent a week on the island of Negros travelling to many parts of the island. We had services with different groups of believers there and had a wonderful time in the Lord. We were invited to a college to share the Gospel with the students. There were about five hundred who sat and listened intently to the songs and testimonies of the brothers, and then the preaching of the Word by Bro. Justin Brown.

The last week of our trip was spent on the island of Bohol. We had sixteen services from Tuesday night to Sunday night and what a wonderful time! Each of the brothers on the team did outstanding, staying right with the services and sharing their part of the efforts.

We would like to thank you for the opportunity to go. We also would like to express our deepest thanks for all of the prayers of the saints at home. God bless you.

Your brother in Christ,
Bro. Josh Dutton
