Missionary Work in Peru

For the last twelve years we have done extensive missionary work in Peru. We have worked in the cities, the country-side, and the mountains with many of the missionary brothers there. We have held conventions there with seven to eight hundred in attendance. The last such convention was held in the Spring of 2002 and there were twenty souls that we know of who gave their hearts to the Lord.

We have done many different things with our missionary teams in our work there. We’ve gone out in the cities and marched through the streets playing music, passing out invitations, and sharing the Word of God to the people.

Many of the ministers and churches there are now asking for our help. They are not only asking for us to come and preach, but also to come and help them to become established on the Word of God. One of the brothers we have worked with there said, “Worldwide Missionary Outreach working with us these last ten years is what has helped us to build a foundation and to build what we are and what we believe. It has helped us to go out and to continue to preach the Gospel and do the missionary work out in the fields.” That is part of our hope and our goal, to reach the native missionaries so that they can reach out for lost souls.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support for the work in Peru.

Spoken Word Broadcast

We have had Bro. Branham’s voice going out over the airwaves in Peru continually since January 2005. As in other places where we have been able to play them, we have seen many wonderful things come out of them.

WMO Office

WMO has recognized a need for central meeting places for the pastors as well as the church members who are so often spread out from one another. The Lord has blessed us with an office in Lima to meet such needs.

Testimonies

The first time we visited the country of Peru was in 1992 when Bro. John Bonk, an interpreter and I went to Lima. There we met with many missionary brothers who were preaching the gospel. We also had the privilege to travel to several missions in various locations throughout the country.

One mission that stands out to me was a few miles outside of Lima. Two brothers had felt led to move there with their families and start a mission. These people were very poor. Before going the Brother in Lima told us, "We are poor, but these people are really poor." We found this to be true but they were really hungry for the gospel. This was the most desolate place you've ever seen. It never rains. There is no grass, no trees -- only dirt. The Brothers had constructed a bamboo church and people were coming from near and far to hear the preaching of God's Word. They walked and rode the bus and coming any way they could. We arrived in an old beat up taxi (the nice ones wouldn't go there).  When I stepped out of the taxi, the wind was blowing. I didn't know that it was windy, because there was no trees or grass.  The pages of my Bible began to flap. They stopped at Isaiah 53:

Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The Lord did marvelous things that day for his people. We named the place "the City of Hope" and there is a body of believers there now. Thank you for your prayers and financial support. We know Bro. Branham said that if you can't go you should send someone. May God richly bless you for this. Until we meet... Shalom.
